Japanese

The “A Research Base for Conflict Studies in the Humanities” research program (program leader: Junji Koizumi) was adopted as one of the “Global COE Programs” in 2007.

The “Global COE Program” is a new research and education project that takes into account the evaluation and verification of the “21st Century COE Program” funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology between 2002 and 2007. It carries on that program’s fundamental concept with the purpose of further strengthening and enhancing the research functions at graduate schools in Japan. It also aims at emphatically supporting the formation of an educational research base that is of international excellence. The overall purpose of the “Global COE Program” is to foster the creative human resource training that can lead the world upon a research base of the highest global standards, and to promote the development of a globally competitive university.
